Beyond the Autumn Leaves

Matt Burke has spent years preparing for the hike of a lifetime—the Alpine Staircase to the summit of Mount Whitehorse. But this journey is more than just a test of endurance; it's a tribute to his father, who lost his life on the very same trail. As Matt pushes himself up the mountain, memories of his past resurface—his childhood, his father’s tragic death, and the love of the wilderness they once shared.

But something is waiting for him in the mountains. A force beyond his understanding begins to manipulate his path, leading him into an unforgiving wilderness where time, reality, and memory blur. A strange child emerges from the depths of the forest, offering guidance, yet withholding truths. And lurking in the shadows, a monstrous presence watches his every move.

As Matt’s journey unfolds, he is forced to confront not only the perils of the wilderness but also the haunting truth of his own existence. Trapped between life and death, between past and future, he must make an impossible choice—one that will determine the fate of his family and his own soul.

A genre-bending blend of mystery, horror, and the supernatural, Beyond the Autumn Leaves is an emotional and harrowing tale of loss, redemption, and the unbreakable bonds that transcend even death.

Debut Novel

Isolation

When acclaimed author Russell Tolliver finds himself paralyzed by writer’s block, he and his family trade the noise of Boston for the quiet charm of a secluded New Hampshire town fittingly called Isolation. Their new home is everything they dreamed of—a serene escape nestled in the shadow of endless woods.

But serenity can’t last forever.

Not long after their arrival, whispers of a shadowy creature stalking the forest begin to spread through the town. The whispers turn to screams when mutilated bodies start appearing. As the death toll rises, fear grips Isolation, threatening to unravel the close-knit community.

Determined to protect their families and uncover the truth, Russell teams up with his neighbors, Tom and Mitchell, and a reclusive town historian, Bryce. Together, they begin unraveling Isolation’s dark and bloody past—a past that holds terrifying secrets about the creature lurking in the woods.

As they dig deeper, the line between history and horror blurs, forcing each man to confront their own inner demons. With the monster’s rampage escalating and time running out, the four friends must face a chilling truth: history remembers.

Isolation is a gripping tale of terror, resilience, and the lengths we go to protect the ones we love—no matter what waits for us in the shadows.

Isolation Cover Picture

An incredibly strong debut novel from Jared Grace. An intriguing story about a small, peaceful town living through a nightmare as history forces everyone to remember the truth. A story that will make you feel like you are a kid reading your first horror novel again.

About Timeless: An interesting collection of extremely diverse stories. The two standouts were Jared Grace and D.E. McClusky, with Grace’s being a top ten of the year for me. A solid read for those who enjoy time traveling.~ Uncomfortably Dark

Praise For Grace's Works

Jared Grace’s debut novel “Isolation” is reminiscent of Stephen King’s “Needful Things” where the reader navigates the inner lives, pasts and desires of the residents of this desolate town. This story explores the darkest places of our humanity and how our history can echo into our future. Isolation shocked me and made my skin crawl, exactly what I want in a scary story. A great read for horror fans!

You can feel the terror and fear with each turn of the page. Jared's thoughtfulness of each character's journey and feelings is felt throughout the book. I highly recommend reading Isolation.

A gripping and spine-chilling narrative that will leave you on the edge of your seat. - Horror Book Reviews

Jared dives into the deepest and most horrific depths of grief and the human psyche with both tact, compassion and well… Grace. Beyond the Autumn Leaves is a deeply personal story that will carry with you through all seasons. This story made me cry real physical tears, it made me angry, it made me nervous, it made me laugh… it made me all of the things… and that’s what makes it a stellar story. A book that can evoke such emotions and feelings for the reader is hard to come by and Jared nailed it.
