An update on events, past and future

As I have posted on my Facebook page (Author Jared Grace), I want to give a special thank you to the fine people at Barnes & Noble in Salem, NH--especially Hannah who helped put on this event yesterday 5/3 and, as always the two best people I've met in the Indie bookstore industry who have always supported me and my writing, Cassie and Fallon at The Bookery in Manchester, NH (Elm St.) for putting on such great events.

Yesterday was an incredibly long day (about 15 hours total when you factor in driving) but it was totally worth it. I got to meet some great new authors and talk with several who I know personally from previous events. I'd love to highlight their names here and ask you to check out their work because, trust me, they are all worth it. Here are some of the people I got to work with yesterday (taken from their Goodreads pages):

Jennifer Anne Gordon: Jennifer Anne Gordon is a Gothic horror novelist. Her work includes Beautiful, Frightening and Silent (2020) which won the Kindle Award for Best Horror/Suspense for 2020, and From Daylight to Madness (The Hotel book 1), and When the Sleeping Dead Still Talk (The Hotel book 2). http://www.jenniferannegordon.com/

Matthew H. Jones: Matthew H. Jones writes—whether his work is good or bad, he leaves for the reader to decide, hoping they make the right choice. His fiction is contemplative, pulse-pounding, funny, and lyrical—or so he believes, though he admits he’s biased. https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B00AWYZA1S?ingress=0&visitId=2927e09a-6370-4761-96c5-00716ae7f727&ccs_id=64149685-3a35-4f4f-a6b2-f7455d4f6215

Sebastian Nothwell: Sebastian Nothwell writes queer romance. When he is not writing, he is counting down the minutes until he is permitted to return to writing. He is absolutely not a ghost and definitely did not die in 1895. https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/16935683.Sebastian_Nothwell?from_search=true&from_srp=true

Mae Murray: Mae Murray is a writer and editor hailing from Arkansas, now living in eerie New England. She contributes essays and film criticism to Fangoria.com and Dread Central. She is the recipient of the 2022 Brave New Weird Award for Superior Achievement in Short Fiction. The Book of Queer Saints Volume I was her editing debut and a 2023 British Fantasy Award nominee in the Best Anthology category. I'm Sorry If I Scared You is her debut novel. https://www.maemurray.com/

Having spoken with all these authors and listened to them speak to the guests that showed up to Barnes & Noble and The Bookery I can tell you, they all know what they are doing and their passion reflects in the way they speak about their work and, in fact, their work in general. I implore everyone reading this to check them out or, if you're not in a position to buy a new book because (like me) your TBR is just insanely long, give them a follow on Goodreads, Amazon, or their website for future reading pleasure.

So what's next for me? Well, quite a few things. Namely, May 16-18 I'll be attending Bookstock (you'll be able to see Madison Rene there as well) in Woodstock, Vermont. https://bookstockvt.org/ I'll be on the Green with plenty of other amazing authors selling all three of my works: Isolation, Beyond the Autumn Leaves, and Timeless: A Horror Anthology Through the Ages. For those of you who haven't heard, my story Cody that is found in Timeless will have a full length sequel coming out, hopefully in 2026. So, grab your copy today and give it a read in preparation for this novel.

On June 7th, I will be holding another author event at Tatnuck Bookseller in Westborough, MA. Many of you have come to see me there in the past and I hope for another amazing event. If you're in MA or southern NH make sure to mark your calendars for that, not only to see me, but to see this huge indie bookstore. You won't be disappointed.

Lastly, (so far) on September 21st I'll be in Brooklyn, NY for the huge and heralded Brooklyn Book Festival. This event is not to be missed by any means. Plan accordingly and I'll be posting more about it as we get closer but, for now, you can check out information here: https://brooklynbookfestival.org/

As always, stay spooky and happy reading!
